Innovative professional service software provider Summa Tech is returning to the rink for the 2024/25 season as sponsors of Oxford Rising Stars, the city’s semi-professional ice hockey team.
Funding from sponsors allows the team to finance kit and safety equipment, training and matches, venue upkeep and community events, drawing support from businesses from across the city and beyond.
Popular among Oxonian sports fans, the team plays in the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) South Division 2 against teams from Cardiff, Peterborough, Haringey and Bristol, among others.
The latest season kicks off on 14 September 2024 with an away game at Planet Ice Gillingham, with the Rising Stars facing off against Kent’s Invicta Mustangs. The team will play its first home game against Cardiff Canucks at Oxford Ice Rink on 28 September.
Nathan Keeley, CEO at Summa Tech, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be able to keep supporting the Rising Stars!
“They’re an excellent team with a great atmosphere for players, fans and supporters. I’m proud that we’re in a position to contribute to our local team and improve access to a sport that doesn’t receive as much funding as others.
“The team is a wonderful addition to the local community. We’ll all be cheering for them at their first match in September!”
